Lions Pond!

Lions Pond located at the Rifle Rest Area is a great short hike (approx. 1 mile or 10 min.) If traveling through the area, it's a great way to stretch your leg's after being in a car for a while. SSSHHH - Lions Pond is Rifle's hidden secret! Many locals enjoy hiking this short trail during their lunch breaks and relaxing at the area picnic tables. Bring the fishing poles because the pond is stocked with thousands of of native fish. What I enjoy most about this hike is the wildlife viewing you get to experience at any given time, Elk, Deer, Eagles, Turtles, Fish, Owls, are frequent guests. It's a Bird lover's paradise.
